SIGFest 2025 Recap:
Our 24th Annual Event!
SIGFest 2025 was a huge success! We had beautiful sunny weather, lots of enthusiastic participation, amazing food, interesting and informative technical presentations and (of course) 85 incredible E30 M3's. For those who couldn't attend, here's a brief recap of the day:
Friday Night SIGFest Meet & Greet Dinner:
We had a great turnout for the SIGFest 2025 kickoff dinner at The Brownstone in Englewood NJ. Forty one SIG members and their guests came out to celebrate our 24th annual event, including several of our event sponsors. Dave Tormey of Enthusiast Spec donated funds used to commission custom engraved slate SIGFest coasters, which were provided to each participant. I finally got to try out my E30 M3 / SIG Quiz I've been working on (not sure if it was popular or not, so let us know in the comments if this is a one and done, or something that we should continue to do in the future). The night included great conversation with fellow BMW E30 M3 enthusiasts and owners, delicious food and drink, and even prizes for those with the most correct quiz answers.
Saturday's Picnic and Concours:
Saturday's 24th Annual SIGFest Concours and Picnic event was held at BMW's North American Headquarters, in Woodcliff Lake NJ. This year's event coincided with BMW North America's 50th Anniversary, so they pulled in their Motorad, Mini and Rolls Royce brands In addition to hosting our annual gathering of E30 M3's. BMW NA also staged their newest models including the new M2 CS, the M5 Touring, and several of their new Mini and Rolls Royce, and BMW Motorad models, as well as several BMW sponsored race cars. They also presented several different technical workshops with various engines on display, (including a working S38 on a portable engine stand), and in-depth technical presentations featuring BMW's advanced battery electric vehicle systems, a presentation on the evolution of M Performance engines, a presentation by author and BMW historian Steve Saxty, and an interesting and informative presentation by Jay Hanson and Tom Plucinsky about the 1979 BMW M1 Procar Art Car that was on display (hand painted by Andy Worhol). Meanwhile, chefs were busy grilling burgers, chicken and sausages, there was a variety of beverages and even an ice cream truck serving frosty treats. Definitely sensory overload for people like us...
We had a great turnout, Saturday, with 85 E30 M3's, and about 200 SIG Members and guests. Those who registered received their registration packet, which included some great gifts from our sponsors- including a custom SIGFest travel mug- courtesy of Mario Langsten at VSR who was at the event. We were also honored to have longtime SIG Member turned professional IMSA driver James Clay at the event. James owns and operates Bimmerworld and brought Bimmerworld's S62 swapped E36 Touring, as well as the BMW M4 GT4 racecar he pilots.
In the 24 years we have been running this event, I can't remember a year when a wider array of E30 M3's turned out. There were pristine, low mileage examples, restomods, and even real E30 M3 race cars. Every car was really amazing, and no two were alike. After several hours of meeting new people, enjoying great food and experiencing incredible E30 M3's- it was time to hand out the car show awards. This year's trophies were custom made all metal E30 M3 silhouette trophies conceived and created by James Liu. We always have custom-made trophies for SIGFest, and refuse to award something off the shelf or traditional- and this year James created these amazing mementos. We presented the first one to BMW NA (Jay Hanson, Oleg Satanovsky, Tom Plucinsky) as a way of saying congratulations on 50 years, and Thank You for supporting SIGFest.
It really, truly is a difficult task to pick winners for trophies at this
event, so I feel a bit sorry for our judges each year. The collective
knowledge of the judges / enthusiasts made selecting the winners a lengthy
task, as they poured over the incredible examples.

After the awards were presented, we then raffled-off some prizes, donated and funded by our generous sponsors, including a BMW Bicycle, Bose Products, Gift Cards, Scale Models, Auto Body Care, Human Body Care, Books and E30 M3 Parts.

A BIG thanks to James Liu and John Henriquez who do as much work as I do to set up and organize this event every year. Thanks also to my wife Laura, and my kids Anthony and Avery. Thank you also to James' wife Shauna, John and Luke Dunnock, Steve Valeski, Jake and Jennifer Larson, Emil Curko, Mike Grullon and the numerous other SIG members who helped out at the event this year.

As event organizers, James, John and I see our role in all of this as setting the stage for you, the stars of the show. These cars are now considered rare and valuable collectors cars, and that means that it's more important than ever to get them out of the garage. Far too many of these cars will become just part of someone's collection never to be seen again, so we encourage their continued use and enjoyment. Without all of the enthusiasm and active participation, the event would fall flat, so thanks for coming out and spending the day (and in many cases- the entire weekend) with us, and making SIGFest 2025 a huge success.
We are already working on the event for 2026, so if you have any ideas for making the event the best it can be, and / or if you would like to collaborate with us on future events- please let us know. The more you are involved, the better the event will be.
E30 M3 SIGFest: You Come For The Cars - You Stay For The People!
We look forward to seeing you all next year!
Sincerely,
James Liu, John Henriquez, Tony Rausch
