SIGFest 2014 Recap:
Our 15th Annual Event
I would like to express my thanks to all those whom participated in another successful SIGFest! SIGFest 2014 was filled with amazing weather, beautiful E30 M3s and attendees from near and far. Tony Rausch, John Henriquez and James Liu collaborated on the event this year. For those who couldn't attend, here's a brief recap of the weekend.
Friday evening's SIGFest kickoff dinner at Fire & Oak was set in the beautiful balcony private room with a birds-eye view overlooking the main dining area. A large group of us from as far South as North Carolina and as close as Wayne, NJ dined on gourmet comfort food with my choice being fall off the bone BBQ ribs. Everyone seemed to have a really great time. It was great to have a chance to catch up with old friends and put names to faces to establish new long term friendships.
Saturday's BMW NA's & BMW CCA's Cars & Croissants and SIGFest's Concours 'd Elegance:
The morning started with BMW NA's 1st Cars & Croissants open to all members of the local BMW CCA and our SIGFest group. This well attended event got to preview, and sit in the i8, i3, M3 sedan, M4 Coupe, M4 convertible and X4. The event even provided the group with some technical information on the inner workings of the new i3.
It seems each year our E30 M3's look more and more pristine! This year we were blessed to have beautiful sunny skies which gave us one of the largest turnouts of E30 M3's (62) in several years. We had a special section for our E30 ///M3 challenged friends as well. We were treated to the sights of 1995 Daytona Violet E34 Individual M5, 2002 Turbo, CSL replica Race car, and a BMW Individual Santorini Blue M3 coupe featured in this month's Performance BMW Magazine.
This year's awards were masterminded by Tony Rausch with Hot Wheels E30 M3s mounted on a carbon fiber looking base of a desk lamp. The 2014 award categories were:
BMW NA's Choice
SIGFest Survivor Award
Best of Show
Best Tribute
Best Stock
Longest Ownership
Carrier of the Flame

We also sold some special raffle tickets to win a few bigger prizes like a BMW bicycle, a BMW kids bike, BMW watch, and a Detailer's Domain detailing kit, the proceeds to benefit the BMW Foundation's Street Survival driver training program. We raised almost $1,000 which we donated on behalf of the SIG and S14 members.
Thanks go out to Filippo Morelli and bimmers.com for continuing to support this event, (now in its 15th year), and also to the numerous SIG members who helped out at the event this year, making things run smoothly.
As event organizers, Tony, John and James see our role in all of this as setting the stage for you, the stars of the event. Without all of the enthusiasm and active participation, the event would fall flat, so thanks for coming out and spending the day (and in many cases- the entire weekend) with us, and making SIGFest 2014 a success.
